Our tours through the auditorium, props store and costume room and across the stages afford a fascinating insight into the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the everyday goings-on behind the scenes. What thinking went into the architectural complex concealed behind the long, exposed-aggregate concrete façade on Bismarckstraße? What goes into designing a stage set? What happens at rehearsals? How and where are the precious costumes administered? Visitors will also learn some lesser-known details of the eventful history of the opera house, which, with its new, modern productions and its repertoire of early treasures, provides a cross-section of more than 40 years of productions and performances.
