Politisches Konzert Abshagen Ahabs Linkes Bein 13.10

CCS – three letters promising nothing less than climate neutrality for the industry sector. Clean steel, green plastic, sustainable hydrogen – all thanks to CO2 storage deep underground.

Yet, the reality looks quite different. Carbon Capture and Storage is a clever narrative of the oil, gas and mining industry to continue their climate destructive business model. With the help of a technology based on little substantial research but enormous costs and high risks.

This year, the German government could pass a law that would allow CO2 disposal in the North Sea’s ocean floor. Within the next couple of decades, CCS projects might start all over the world with little to no consent by affected communities.

Poignant and agitating, lyrical and political – Marie-Luise Abshagen and the musicians of Ahabs Linkes Bein invite you to a very special political concert, to guide you from understanding to resistance to an experience of hope for a better tomorrow.

The concert is part of the Alternative Ressource Week and is organized by the German NGO Forum on Environment and Development.
