Launch of Berlin Polyphon – For Recognition, Visibility and Solidarity in the Migration Society · Music, Panels and Networking

On 20 November 2024, the official launch of Berlin Polyphon will take place in the Grüner Salon of the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz. The initiative is an association of Berlin migrant organizations that aims to shed a different light on migration debates. The publication of corrective’s research at the beginning of 2024 was not the first to show that for years, migration has been discussed, reported and politically decided in a very one-sided way, far too often over the heads of the people who are actually affected by such debates and measures. While one tightening of the law follows the next and deportations are negotiated with the worst regimes, those for whom migration is part of their lives very rarely get a chance to speak. In a post-migrant society, however, nobody has to have migrated themselves to be part of a migrant society. The aim of the event is to present the work of the participating initiatives and to discuss the topics of migration and democratic participation. The programme includes workshops, a panel discussion and artistic contributions to provide a diverse insight into the work and goals of Berlin Polyphon.
