Potsdam City Tour with a Soviet minibus

With a special and authentic vehicle, we’ll explore Potsdam’s Soviet secrets. From the end of the World War II until the 1990s, the former Prussian residential town Potsdam had almost 50 years of Soviet history.

Our vehicle:

The minibus “Bukhanka” (“pan loaf”) is a modern Soviet "vintage car". Up to 8 guests (+ driver) can enjoy a unique and authentic experience. There are some surprises waiting on board!

The tour:

We start from Potsdam Central Station in the direction of the city center. At Bassinplatz square, between the French and Dutch quarters, lies the Soviet War Cemetery Potsdam, which is a final resting place for hundreds of fallen Soviet soldiers at the end of the Second World War. Then we’ll head to the historic site of the Potsdam Conference. In the summer of 1945, USSR, British and US heads of state met in the UNESCO World Heritage park Neuer Garten to decide on the future of post-war Europe. Right next to the New Garden was an important Soviet intelligence site of the KGB during the Cold War. In the "Forbidden City" was also a detention center, to which we pay a short visit.

Then the "Bukhanka" takes us to the Glienicke Bridge, which not only became world-famous as a spy bridge because of the Hollywood production "Bridge of Spies". The bridge once divided East and West. Eventually this Potsdam city tour will go to the Rechenzentrum Potsdam - a GDR building threatened with demolition. A huge socialist mosaic depicts scenes of the notorious Cold War Space Race. At the main station ends this extraordinary Potsdam city tour in the "Bukhanka".
