Your body is enough

For decades, people who are overweight or those who are considered "different" and do not conform to the social norm have been judged negatively. The feeling of not belonging is directly conveyed and the existence of these people is obviously disturbing. This is precisely why the your body is enough movement is so crucial for everyone. It's time for humanity to accept the diversity of our bodies as something completely normal. No child should have to worry about not conforming to the norm. No teenager should suffer mental health problems or develop eating disorders because their body is bullied for being different. No (young) adult should have suicidal thoughts because they don't feel loved because of their body.

The initiative "Your body is enough" was taken over and expanded by the photographer Caro Gugu

This is where the Your body is enough movement comes in: It fights passionately for self-love and body positivity. The initiative, established by Caro Hopp in 2019 and taken over by Caro Gugu in 2022, aims to change the perception of bodies and create a world in which diversity is seen as normal. Present on social media and through powerful photographs on Instagram, they make it clear that the confrontation with body shaming is omnipresent. The founders, who have themselves walked the path from body hatred to body love, understand the need to fight against the negative judgments people experience based on their appearance.

The exhibition depicts the reality of the lives and bodies of many different people

The initiative aims to strengthen not only the bodies, but also the self-esteem of each individual. In a world that is often characterized by superficial looks and social norms, the mission is clear: to bring more reality into the media and show how beautiful real bodies are. Caro Gugu is committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of gender, age, body shape or skin color, can feel comfortable in their own body. The photo project Your body is enough has already given more than 150 people the opportunity to share their stories and their nudity in front of the camera, without retouching or alterations.
