The external exhibition space of the Mitte Museum in the Tiergarten Town Hall focuses on the period of National Socialism in the Mitte district. The annex is also regularly used for events such as readings and film screenings in order to be a lively meeting place for cultural exchange in the neighborhood.

The City Hall building was constructed between 1935 and 1937 and was the first new building during the National Socialist era for Berlin's municipal administration (architect: Richard Ermisch).
