the bauhaus view

The Construction Site Info Center of the Bauhaus Archive / Museum of Design

The construction site info center provides information on two floors about the future Bauhaus Archive / Museum of Design and the extension being built by Staab Architekten. Visitors can follow the construction work live from the roof terrace. On the 1st floor, we provide information about the construction project with current facts, figures and background information. An architectural model of the new building shows how the Bauhaus Archive / Museum of Design is expected to look when it reopens in 2025.

the bauhaus view is also the starting point of the bauhaus_walk: the walk leads from the construction site to the temporary bauhaus-archiv, the interim location of the Bauhaus Archive in Charlottenburg. The accompanying folding map features stories and tips for activities around the sites of modern architecture along the way, whether it's to Ludwig Leo's pink circulating tank or the traffic island in the center of Ernst-Reuter-Platz. Those who want to get creative themselves can experiment photographically with Instagram filters developed especially for these places.

Note please: Currently, temporary closures may apply due to frost.
