Bagism was a project by John Lennon and Yoko Ono as part of their peace campaigns in the late 1960s. By presenting themselves covered by an oversized (carrier) bag, they addressed prejudices and judgement that arise in the context of physical characteristics.
SHEETISM uses a bed sheet instead of the bag. By covering the body, a new form is created. But the sheet also develops its own scope for action. Since the rule of seeing is to place objects in context, SHEETISM – Forest exposes ambiguous bodies to a forest environment. The images that emerge invite you to examine the relationship between the visible and the associative.
