Pioneering figures of the 1848/49 revolution
from Jim Avignon
Six Berlin revolutionaries - painted life-size by the internationally renowned pop artist Jim Avignon - represent different aspects of the March Revolution. They tell of the struggle on the barricades, of the commitment to democracy, of ventures and visions. They were committed to women's rights, social justice and the improvement of living conditions. The project is part of an installation by Kulturprojekte Berlin GmbH for the revolutionary anniversary in March 2023.
