Lukas Städler: Ouvertüre

Dittrich & Schlechtriem are pleased to present the first solo exhibition of the photographic artist Lukas Städlerin the gallery.

The works shown in "Ouvertüre" create optimistic spaces for reflections on intimacy, community and identity and include new works alongside an auto-biographical overview to provide an introduction and deep insight into Städler's recent past and artistic development.

At the centre of Städler's artistic practice are personal and often intimate explorations of his environment. In a combination of staging and spontaneity, his pictures create a unique approach to documenting individual realities of life. His models come from the communities in which he moves, a closeness that enables him to convey how they love and live. The exhibition also features images from Städler's Hain project, for which he has been documenting cruising spots in Berlin for two years in almost idyllic photos that capture the tension and spontaneous energy of these sexual movements.
