Klára Némethy: Human Nature

"A relationship of give and take" is the motto of the exhibition by Berlin artist Klára Némethy. The focus is on the interplay between man and nature.

Man and nature form an organic unity in many of Némethy's paintings, watercolors and drawings, sometimes even seeming to merge. Her works show a cross-section of Némethy's oeuvre, ranging from 2018 to the present day.

An overview of her work from a single source - although contrasts are carefully juxtaposed: Here the pure idyll, intertwined trees, lovely flowers, a clearing, a lake, people involved as actors in the natural spectacle without imposing themselves. There is the appearance of the nasty reality, visualized, for example, by the deforestation in the Amazon or the flood of the century in 2021 in the Ahr valley.

Némethy is concerned with a new dynamic in dealing with nature. She asks: "What do we give, what do we get? What does nature give us, what does nature get from us?" The exhibition was curated by art historian Dr. Beatrice Miersch.

Admission is free. The opening hours of the exhibition areWed.-Fri. 3-7 p.m., Sat.-Sun. 12-7 p.m.
