The history of the French Church parishes in Berlin and Potsdam has so far only been considered separately. Yet there are numerous connections between the two. This will be told using the life stories of Potsdam parishioners. For example, the Berlin-born painter Suzette Henry (1763 - 1819) lived with her husband, the preacher Jean Henry, in Potsdam for some time before they both moved back to Berlin. The lecture and exhibition will provide an answer to how much the two Church parishes - the big sister in Berlin and the little sister in Potsdam - needed and influenced each other. The timing is deliberate, as the two congregations are soon to be merged.

The exhibition was created to mark the 300th anniversary of the French Church parish in Potsdam, which was celebrated last summer. For the presentation in the Franzoesische Dom, it was revised once again and supplemented with objects from the Huguenot Museum's collection. It begins with the baptismal register of the Potsdam congregation, which was started in 1723 and is kept in the archives of the French Church in Berlin. At the same time, exhibits from the permanent exhibition will also be included.
