Performance for school classes only! (An evening performance will take place on 5.12. at 7 p.m.)
Grandpa Werner was a railway director in Krakow. In France, his granddaughter meets a married couple from Toulouse - Jean and Marie Vaislic, who survived Auschwitz and Ravensbrück. Jean, then Janek Vaislic, had to lay tracks in Auschwitz-Birkenau as a concentration camp inmate, which Grandpa could have planned. The encounter with Jean and Marie becomes the impetus for the granddaughter to develop an evening of puppet theater against forgetting.
Ilka Vierkant is an actress who toured Europe for many years with FAMILIE FLÖZ. For her, the granddaughter of a Nazi perpetrator, the encounter with the survivors of the Holocaust raises many questions and painful feelings, which she addresses in her play.
After the play, students will have the opportunity to talk about the play with Ilka Vierkant and Dr. Stephanie Bohra from the Topography of Terror Documentation Centre.Translated with DeepL
