G.R.I.T. Berlin: Gestural Reflective Inquiring Tales

At the heart of the project "Gestural Reflective Inquiring Tales" is an exhibition of fourteen painters that examines how the basic principles of painting, namely gesture and physicality, relate to artists and viewers.

In this exhibition, the artists deal with core themes of contemporary painting: G.R.I.T. contextualizes painting as a collective practice that simultaneously demands contemplation. With its international contributions, the exhibition aims to connect the whole of Europe and will first be shown in Berlin and then in Dundee, Scotland. At these two venues, the project is developing a model for sustainable artistic exchange, because beyond the exhibition, G.R.I.T. includes symposia and a public program. Finally, the project aims to expand the discourse with a publication.
