Exhibition in the Schlossremise

For the first time, the art-historically important collection of Berlin state carriages, carriages and sedan chairs of the Prussian royal family from the late 17th to the end of the 18th century is being brought together in an exhibition.

Originating from the Prussian Marstall, the carriages, sleighs and sedan chairs were on display in the Hohenzollern Museum in Monbijou Palace until 1942. Despite being removed from storage during the Second World War, some of them were badly damaged and can still be seen today.

Also on display are a number of court farm and transport vehicles. The exhibition thus conveys a wide-ranging picture of artistic and technical carriage construction, the history of which is documented in the same way as that of the Prussian marstal collections.
