The German-American artist, Bettina Allamoda, who has lived and worked in Berlin since 1982, developed sculptures especially for the site of the Mies van der Rohe House with titles such as "Windfang mit Durchblick", "Monument/Konfektion IV" or "Red Stretch (sparkle)" to redefine the given Mies architecture. Allamoda's works are made of glittering, iridescent and metallic reflective sequined fabrics.

In addition to using sculpture as a medium, the process of development becomes central to Allamoda's work. For example, the artist incorporates live performance and kinetic aspects into on-site production. Bettina Allamoda's point of departure is the analysis and exposure of hidden politics of visibility inscribed in the surfaces of popular cultural phenomena such as fashion, art, design, and architecture.

With a focus on rethinking, processing, and "inventing" new materials and an expansion of the engagement with textiles by reusing and reprocessing her own works (as material), the aim is to develop techniques and constructions—especially in relation to her new works in public or outdoor spaces—in harmony with landscape and climate issues as well as to address production processes that Allamoda likes to describe as "hyper-contextual".
