zur Sonderausstellung "FOTOGAGA. Max Ernst und die Fotografie. Die Sammlung Würth zu Gast" (18.10.2024 - 27.4.2025)
Als einen „Funken Poesie“ und als „systematische Ausbeutung des Zufälligen“ beschreibt Max Ernst seine Collagen. Bei diesen, wie in anderen Werken, greift der Künstler, obwohl er selber kein Fotograf war, oft auf Fotografien zurück. Dabei bricht er radikal mit künstlerischen Konventionen und erprobt neue Techniken. Alltägliches wird auf den Kopf gestellt. Traum und Realität vermischen sich.
Die Gesprächsreihe diskutiert die so entstehenden dadaistischen und surrealistischen Werke von Max Ernst und setzt sie in Dialog mit Arbeiten anderer Künstler*innen.
