The interactive tour brings history to life. The museum combines in-depth history education and immersive theme park design.

Museum and theme park
The museum shows life-size, detailed worlds to immerse yourself in.

Modern technology has been used to create a 4D museum at this location. Expansive views, ambient sounds and even smells bring the historical places to life.

The unique combination of education and theme park, innovation and history make the Deutschlandmuseum a new kind of museum.

Aim of the Deutschlandmuseum
The aim of the Deutschlandmuseum, which opens in June 2023, was to design a museum that brings history to life at first hand. Inspired by theme parks and the film industry, the museum's team of historians worked closely with Chris Lange, former head designer at Europa-Park. From the Varus Battle of the Germanic tribes against the Romans to the Middle Ages and the fall of the Berlin Wall, places and events from German history are recreated - visually, acoustically, olfactorily and haptically.

THEA Award for Outstanding Achievement
With its unique immersive approach, the Deutschlandmuseum has attracted worldwide attention: in November 2023, the Deutschlandmuseum was honored with the THEA Award for Outstanding Achievement, also known as the "Museum Oscar". This is the first time the award has gone to a German museum.

The Thea Award is considered one of the highest honors in the entertainment industry and will be presented to the Deutschlandmuseum at a ceremony in Hollywood in March 2024.
