When the mouse didn't know where she was – Book Premiere with Jörg Hilbert

A Reading for Children and Families, Including a Visit to ANOHA (in German)

Jörg Hilbert, famous children's book author and inventor of the character Ritter Rost, will be visiting the Jewish Museum Berlin to talk about his new book. Did you know that some of the animals in ANOHA are based on his designs? Well, they are, and they inspired him to retell the story of Noah's Ark from the point of view of a little mouse!

The little mouse is astonished. How did she get here? It's dark and somewhere, frogs are croaking. She's curious, and starts to explore. She meets a giraffe, a rhinoceros, a dromedary – and even a cat! The cat doesn't hurt her. Why not? What’s behind that? Is the mouse really here by chance?

After the reading, families with children aged 3 to 12 can visit the ANOHA Children's World between 12 and 1 p.m. Tickets for the reading will be valid for admission to ANOHA during this period. Don’t forget your non-slip socks! If you haven't brought any, you can buy some on site.

Jörg Hilbert is a children's author and illustrator who has published over a hundred books. He is best known for the Ritter Rost stories (with music by Felix Janosa). He is a distant relative of Joachim Ringelnatz and also performs as a recitalist and lutenist.

Ane Kleine-Engel, head of the Jewish Museum Berlin's Children's World, will be moderating the book premiere and discussion.
