Discover Berlin's parliamentary and governmental district and see, among other things, the representative office of the EU, the embassies of America and France, the Federal Chancellery, the parliamentary buildings for members' offices and parliamentary committees, as well as the Federal Press Conference and the ARD capital city studio.
Tour description
The tour starts at the Brandenburg Gate, which once formed the border between East and West. Since reunification, the government district has grown along the Spree River as Germany's new political center. At its heart is the so-called "Ribbon of the Federation" with a symbolic bridge over the Spree and the former Wall border. Besides the impressive Reichstag building, you will also see the Federal Chancellery and many other politically relevant buildings and institutions such as ministries, media houses or embassies. The glass dome on top of the Reichstag building together with the roof terrace offer impressive views over the federal capital.
On this guided tour of the government district you will see:
- Brandenburg Gate - symbol of the division and reunification of Germany
- Hotel Adlon - the preferred hotel for state guests of the Federal Government
- Embassies - among others of France and the USAEU representation in the federal capital
- Media representations, such as the capital city studio of the ARD and the Federal Press Conference
- Wall memorial and White Crosses on the Spree River - reminders of tragic escape attempts
- View of the offices of members of parliament and conference rooms in the Paul Löbe Haus
- Federal Chancellery - control center of the government
- German Bundestag in the Reichstag building
