"The Resonant Museum" – awarded as one of the Best German Books Designs of 2024

Terrace Talk

Birte Kreft

Birte Kreft

The basis for "The Resonant Museum" was the "Berlin Conversations on Mental Health" at the Gropius Bau. These talks reflected on how an expanded concept of the museum could reverse the direction between sender and receiver, transforming museums into spaces where people feel welcome, non-discriminated, and socially engaged. The volume also embodies this content in its design, with texts appearing like off-screen voices in negative white on a black background, transitioning gradually to brighter pages.

Talk about the importance and impact of book design and why this volume was honored as one of Best German Books Designs 2024:

Elias Hanzer and Lucas Liccini, Studio HanLi, Designers

Diana Mammana, Editor

Beatrice von Bismarck, Author

Birte Kreft, Managing Director of the Stiftung Buchkunst
