Special guided tour on the Day of German Unity

Free public guided tour

"Now what belongs together is growing together". This quote from Willy Brandt has become a catchphrase for the unification process. At midnight on October 3, 1990, the former Chancellor stood in the VIP gallery in front of the Reichstag building in Berlin alongside Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker, Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl and Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher. With tears in his eyes, he witnessed the realization of his life's work: the unification of Germany.

The exhibition tour explains how Willy Brandt's policies towards the East and Germany contributed to overcoming the division of Germany and why this was only conceivable for him in a European context.

The public tour lasts approx. 60 minutes. Free of charge & no registration necessary.Translated with DeepL
