Packed up! A museum goes on a journey

Transport des Schiffsmodells "Molly Aida" aus Werner Herzogs "Fitzcarraldo"

Transport des Schiffsmodells "Molly Aida" aus Werner Herzogs "Fitzcarraldo"

The Kinemathek is moving and carefully packing its museum objects. How exactly does this work? Which objects and materials require special handling and transportation? And: Where can you visit the Kinemathek and its collections in the future?

During the guided tour of the permanent exhibition, we present selected objects and their travel plans - from the Amazonian steamer "Molly Aida" from Werner Herzog's 'Fitzcarraldo', a model ship that was delivered by heavy-duty crane, to the numerous pictorial and text documents that are returned to the archive in special acid-free boxes, to Marlene Dietrich's precious costumes, which are carefully stored in the dark. The diverse objects and documents, props and textiles tell the story of film history and exemplify the central tasks of our museum.
