Open Lab evening: Learning to shape the future

Futures Thinking

We can't predict the future, but we can find out how we want to live in the future. At this Open Lab evening, we will show you how to do this. You will get to know the "Futures Thinking" method. This is a combination of futurology and design thinking. We will show you how to identify and evaluate trends and combine them to create desirable future scenarios.

WHAT IS AN OPEN LAB EVENING?

Every Thursday, things get creative in the lab. You will learn about methods such as design thinking or future storytelling, can try out 3D printers and laser cutters and take a look behind the scenes of the lab projects. There's something new every week.

Futures Thinking can be used in many different ways. For example, to develop an idea for a start-up, to decide on the right apprenticeship or to shine in the next university seminar with new exciting methods.

In terms of content, we will be looking at the topic of democracy. The idea of democracy is more than 2000 years old. A lot has changed since then. Today, social media and globalization are changing the way we live together. And in the future? In the workshop, we will look at the voting processes of the future. Discover with us how democracy can continue!

The event is part of the workshop series "Learning to shape futures", which takes place once a month as part of the Open Lab evening. In a total of four modules, you will get to know well-founded methods of shaping the future, which you can put together to create your own individual future method kit.
