Nell Irvin Painter: Sojourner Truth, Self-Published Author of an As-Told-To Autobiography

Join historian Nell Irvin Painter for the Distinguished W.E.B. Du Bois Lecture at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. She will give a talk about Sojourner Truth, American abolitionist and activist for African-American civil rights and women's rights.

The lecture series honors the famed African-American intellectual and sociologist W.E.B. Du Bois (1868-1963), inviting distinguished American scholars and public intellectuals to deliver talks and lead seminars, fostering intercultural dialogue.

Introduction and moderation by Martin Klepper, professor of American Literature and Culture.
