In July 1941, the municipal mental hospital for children, known as "Wiesengrund" for short, was set up in Wittenau at Eichborndamm 238/240. Children who were classified as "unworthy of life" according to the guidelines of the National Socialist "hereditary and racial doctrine" were admitted to Ward 3 with the deceptive additional name "Children's Specialist Ward". Many children died as a result of risky medical experiments and examination methods, a lack of medical help or insufficient nutrition.
The guided tour at the authentic site conveys the history of the former children's hospital using the example of individual patient fates.Translated with DeepL
