Liebermann letter expert and project collaborator Ernst Volker Braun report you about our ongoing digitisation project. He will share his experiences with Liebermann's handwriting and give tips on how to decipher it. Mr Braun will explain how he is currently making the artist's letters available via the museum-digital platform with footnotes and line-by-line transcription.

As part of the pilot project, we are capturing 384 letters from the archive of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin. These are letters from Max Liebermann himself as well as letters addressed to him. The aim of this project is to finally make these letters, as valuable testimonies, accessible to a wider public. The project is being supervised by the Research and Competence Centre for Digitisation Berlin (digiS) and generously funded by the Berlin Senate.
