As part of the “Post it” project, the Museum of Communication will host a matinée on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The event will explore the development of freedom of expression and the role of media in various historical and social contexts.
Program
Welcome Address
Anja Schaluschke, Director of the Museum of Communication, will open the event with a greeting.
Reading
Steffen Schroeder, actor, author, and member of the mabb Media Council, will read excerpts from the diary of resistance fighter Ruth Andreas-Friedrich.
Panel Discussion
Dr. Eva Flecken, Director of the Media Authority of Berlin-Brandenburg, and Dr. Hildegard Kronawitter, Chairwoman of the White Rose Foundation e.V., will join moderator and journalist Katja Weber for an in-depth discussion.
Stefan Roloff, painter, video artist, and filmmaker, will shed light on the activities of the resistance group “Red Orchestra” in 1943.
Tina Krone, former head of the Archive of the GDR Opposition, will share insights into the pirate radio station “Schwarzer Kanal” and her work in 1986.
The discussion will also address the role of hashtags as a modern tool for freedom of expression in 2021.
