Italy at Wannsee

Terrace talk with Dipl.-Ing. Sabrina Flörke M. Ed.

Italy was a particularly popular place to stay in the 19th century. A number of properties on Wannsee were also modeled on the southern European country. By the time Max Liebermann moved into his "Schloss am Wannsee", the great era of longing for Italy had already subsided. His villa therefore does not seem to have much in common with the longing for Italy. Or does it? What traces of Italy can be discovered at Wannsee? In this discussion, we explore this exciting and multi-layered exchange at Wannsee.
