Intermediate Mold Making for Wax

Kunsthandwerk Workshops

This class is designed for intermediate-level students who want to learn mold making for wax. The course will cover a range of materials, including modeling clay, plasteline, plaster, silicone, and alginate, which will enable students to create high-quality waxes for glass casting.
The focus of the class is on creating wax forms that are ready to be cast into glass. Note that this class is not about casting glass itself. During the class, students will learn how to make molds of body parts, found objects, or hand-sculpted pieces that can be transformed into wax. The course instructor will be available to answer any questions and advise on transforming wax into glass. Additionally, the instructor will provide expert guidance on feeder location, size, and shape, air-out solutions, kiln scheduling, and cold working solutions.
No prior experience is required for this class.
