You can build with mushrooms. The first habitable example of this can be seen in the "Closer to Nature" exhibition: the MY-CO SPACE Tiny House. Its wooden substructure is clad with 300 panels of a composite material made from the local tinder fungus and agricultural waste.

In the two-part event, biotechnologist Vera Meyer and architect Sven Pfeiffer explain how MY-CO SPACE was created from the power of mushrooms - and together with them. Both founded the Berlin collective MY-CO-X in 2021, with which they have been researching the development of mushroom-based building materials ever since.

The fascinating world of mushroom materials then becomes tangible. Their surprising properties can be explored using various samples. There will be astonishing insights into the many ways in which the potential of fungi can already be used today.

The event takes place as part of the AEW - Architecture Exhibitions Weekend 2024.Translated with DeepL
