Spandovia Sacra - Holy Spandau
The museum of the history of the Reformation at St. Nikolai at Reformationsplatz 12 is housed in a half-timbered house dating back to the Middle Ages. As the St. Nikolai parish is as old as the town (since 1232) and the district (since 1920) of Spandau, many valuable items have been collected over the centuries: Paintings, communion utensils, church records and documents. The changing exhibitions focus mainly on church history, which is always part of local and regional history. Almost all of the exhibits are from the museum's own collection.
The museum is open free of charge:Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 6 pm.
After a visit to the museum, the adjoining cozy café invites you to linger: under secluded old trees on Reformation Square, in the bright conservatory or in the half-timbered parlor with fireplace.
