Guided tour for children and families: Trick and technology

A guided tour with the mediator and filmmaker Fabian Fornalski.

A guided tour of our permanent exhibition specially designed for children and families

Why do images move in movies and television? When did images learn to speak, and what trick techniques were used in films in the past? Young visitors will get answers to these and many other questions about animation and film technology during a guided tour of the permanent exhibition.

This tour, specially developed for children, starts with the German film pioneers, goes through the early years of German cinema and explains the beginnings of sound film. Using films such as the silent film classic Metropolis, the technique of single frame animation is illustrated by hand.

A guided tour with the mediator and filmmaker Fabian Fornalski.
