The island of Elephantine was an important trading and border center in southern Egypt, home to a uniquely diverse multilingual, multicultural and multireligious population. This outstanding exhibition is dedicated to various aspects of this complex society in the form of themed islands. During the guided tour, you will learn about the legal forms that existed, how the economy and trade worked, what role religion and worship played, how family life was structured and the importance of medicine and science. Immerse yourself in the 4000 years of cultural history of Elephantine island!
