In the workshop “Designing Urban Space for Everyone” at BERLIN GLOBAL’s WELTSTUDIO, former homeless person and current city guide Dieter shares his experiences of life on the streets. In a direct exchange, you will learn how urban planning influences life and survival.

Which groups of people are systematically displaced in urban spaces? How can certain construction methods and design decisions make life more difficult for homeless people? And how does architecture contribute to exacerbating social problems?

With the help of different materials, you will design your ideal bench and contribute to a city without inhumane and marginalising architecture. Let your imagination run wild and creatively address the question: When is a bench built in such a way that it invites everyone to linger?

We look forward to seeing you and your creative ideas for a more liveable city!
