Courtly dancing pleasure in Paretz

Workshop empire dance

On this day, we want to take ourselves back in time, both dance-wise and fashion-wise, to the time of Queen Luise, who was a passionate dancer.

In the morning and afternoon, convivial group and alley dances such as quadrilles, anglaises and ecossaises from the time around 1800 will be danced in the modern hall building of the palace during a dance workshop. After a coffee break, a guided tour of the castle awaits us. Everyone:r is invited to wear appropriate late 18th or early 19th century attire throughout the day. If you don't have your own costume, you might find one at the rental of historical costumes of the Paretz Foundation.

While dance experience is useful for the workshop, it can also serve as an introduction to historical dance. A:e partner:in is not required for registration!

Birte Hoffmann-Cabenda is a certified dance instructor and has been working with historical dances for many years. She regularly offers workshops and participates as a dance master at historical balls of different eras.
