Celebrating and giving - Christmas and festive culture

Guided tour for people aged 14 and over

Winternacht am Schloss Charlottenburg

Winternacht am Schloss Charlottenburg

Christmas is a holiday steeped in tradition: we decorate our homes, visit Christmas markets, get together with family and friends, celebrate and dine, give each other presents and perhaps go to church. Where do these traditions come from? How did people celebrate in the past and what do we know about the Christmas traditions of the royal family?

in the approximately one-hour guided tour through selected rooms, we talk about the history of Christmas in Berlin and provide insights into the past of Charlottenburg Palace, which was a popular place for festivities, especially in the 18th century. Anyone who wants to find out more about Christmas and exchange ideas with others about festive traditions is very welcome - regardless of whether and how you celebrate Christmas yourself.

Please note: The guided tours on 1.12. and 15.12. are aimed specifically at adults. On the other two Sundays in Advent, we offer guided tours for families with children. The program can be booked for groups on Tuesdays to Thursdays during the Advent season.Translated with DeepL
