ELSTERMEYER/BADOWSKA (Duo)

Tania Elstermeyer (vocals, harmonica + electronics)

+ Anna Badowska (dance)

Tania Elstermeyer is a performance artist, an actress and lecturer for fine arts at the UDK Berlin. She is also the commissioner for antisemitism work and networking at UDK Berlin. She studied in the classes of Prof. Thomas Zipp and Prof. Mathilde ter Heijne at UdK Berlin.

Her textual compositions bring registers of writing to mind, which are performed

in alliance to a distinctive kind of music beyond established genres. During her performances, sceneries resemblant of theater backdrops are created, ultimately by operating with a vocabulary that is minimalism. Her work slivers traditional outlines of narrator and spectatorship by luring oneself into spaces of intimacy that attracts interest and cause discomfort. She provides powerful- voiced and harmonica live performances, enhanced by electric amplifiers, that transcend her voice and sounds into a both space consuming and producing sound scape. Thus, she creates images that assert themselves by her voice and appearance, which is the primal force of her practice.

ROIGK (Solo)

Stefan Roigk (objects, vocals + electronics)

Stefan Roigk is a sound artist and deals with the intermedial interweaving of electroacoustic music, installation, musical graphics and text-sound composition. The resulting works approach sound as a field for artistic and aesthetic research, taking it as both their departure point and central medium.

His artistic focus lies on the dynamic staging of context-related fragments of everyday existence, which he combines with an extraordinarily poetic formal language in narrative-like compositions.

In his work, Roigk reflects on his own living and production conditions, while investigating the political potential of aurality and tracing the subjective construction of reality.

SCHRAMM/WIESE (Duo)

Heidrun Schramm (samples, computer, midi controller, iPad)

+ Nicolas Wiese (samples, feedback)

Sound artists Heidrun Schramm and Nicolas Wiese have been performing together since 2004, mostly in either audiovisual or site-specific, installative formats. At ausland they will performed their piece "Out of Glass“ - their new release on Tristan Koreya’s label Nostalgie de la Boue.

Heidrun Schramm is a noise collector, sound artist and composer/performer who works with recordings of acoustic musical instruments, voice and object sounds as well as field recordings. She creates mixed forms of live sound collage and conceptual electro-acoustic music. Everyday life, context, poetry, space are important parameters for her work.

Nicolas Wiese is an audiovisual artist and composer/performer of electroacoustic music. His work testifies to a strong interest in the deconstruction and reconstruction of found images / found sound / quotations from mass media and everyday life. Speech, the written word, architecture, complex abstraction, and refraction of nostalgia all play important roles in Wiese’s aesthetic output.
