Schw3rpunkt Kollektiv, Berlin

"Dreieinander" is a joint improvisation that creates space for closeness and community. The three dancers have developed a method of moving freely together and using each other's bodies as points of contact and sources of information. In doing so, they question the common assumption that touch always has a sexual purpose. In the physical connection, a game begins between the three dancers in which they embark on a search for individuality in a collective feeling.

We have been dancing together in various projects for years and have now come together as the Schw3punkt Kollektiv Berlin. After leaving school, we were all at a similar point: lots of time, open to new projects and the realisation that dance is more than ‘just’ a hobby. As part of an exhibition opening that we organised together with other young people, we performed an improvisation in front of an audience for the first time as a trio. We reflected on physical contact in everyday life and in dance. We observed how sensitively and stigmatised this topic is perceived by our peers and how touch is always associated with sexual intent.

In December 2023, we intensified our work during a residency at CORDILLERA - Space for Bodies and Utopias and presented a work-in-progress. Our piece "Dreieinander" emerged from this work. During our self-designed rehearsals, we developed a toolbox consisting of qualities, rules and structures. This enables us to use each other's bodies as points of contact and sources of information. With these tools, we have created a foundation on which we can move freely with each other and incorporate new impulses into our piece. A piece in which we communicate with each other through touch that is free of sexual intentions and connotations.

The music of the piece "Dreieinander" is created live from an ensemble of machines that communicate with the dancers during the performance.
