Resonant Bodies
Resonant Bodies is a live performance for solo drums and two dancers that poetically combines music and dance. The piece tells of the metamorphosis of three individuals who discover their inner being and, as sentient beings, begin to recognise each other and enter into a dialogue that becomes more and more intense as the piece progresses. Rhythm is experienced as a universal means of self-expression that harbours an existential power. In the stage premiere of the piece, dancer/choreographer Hannah Schillinger and drummer/ composer Nathan Ott explore the symbiotic relationship between music and dance in three acts and seven phases.

Nathan Ott Quartet
At the forefront of this ensemble is the legendary saxophonist Christof Lauer, undeniably one of Europe's most significant voices in the last 50 years. Lauer has performed with luminaries including Al Jarreau, Paul Motian, Buster Williams, Al Foster, Bobo Stenson, Albert Mangelsdorf, and the United Jazz & Rock Ensemble, among others. His distinctive style in a pianoless quartet seamlessly intertwines with the haunting tones and communicative brilliance and finesse of Uli Kempendorff, creating an unmistakable sonic texture. Together with Danish bassist Jonas Westergaard, a driving force in the avant-garde and improvised music scene, Ott leads this group into a realm of naturally flowing, dynamic, and dramatic music, where the only rule is to embrace the moment and be prepared for the unexpected—an intensely immersive live experience!
