2050 – Unsere Utopien

How can we create a just world together? And what kind of utopias will we need for this? „2050 – Unsere Utopien“ („2050 – Our Utopias“) is a call to dream about what is possible and rethink what is doable – a dance theatre performance that bridges time and space and transports us to a world in which the urgent social and ecological challenges have been overcome.

Under the direction of choreographer and dancer Raphael Moussa Hillebrand – winner of the German Dance Award 2020 – and in close collaboration with dancer Joy Alpuerto Ritter, „2050 – Unsere Utopien“ emerges as a choreography in which dance, language and spiritual elements intertwine. The piece is accompanied live by the poetic sounds of cellist Eurico Ferreira Mathias and by Djielifily Sako on the kora, a 21-stringed bridge harp from Mali. The four artists transform the stage into a creative universe that offers new ways of forming a global community – one that values the rights of all over the privileges of the few.

„2050 – Unsere Utopien“ is an artistic experiment that tests the limits of the present and points the way to a hopeful future. With their diverse influences, the performers develop new perspectives on our contemporary challenges and possibilities and invite us to a dialogue about building a more equitable world.
