It has something of the silent eeriness with which we grow older. Tacit yet omnipresent. This work engages with the seemingly generic human alignment in dealing with gravity. What it takes to be this upright being and what it forecloses is searched, researched and found in a series of études.

Sophia Obermeyer moves along the edges of dance and philosophy. She often tackles phenomena that have political, proto-moral and embodied dimensions. Currently she is obsessed with backs and the fact that human bodies are not straight. Her work has been funded by the Berlin Senate and Goethe Institute.
