Since the spring of 2011, the group The Gregorian Voices has been touring Europe again. With its leader Georgi Pandurov and eight exceptional soloists, it takes on the legacy of the men's choir Gloria Dei. The goal of this choir was to revive the tradition of Orthodox church music. The ensemble received several international awards.
Experience a varied concert with a mixture of Gregorian chorales, Orthodox church music and songs and madrigals from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. With its vocal power and many solo passages, the choir and its soloists show how Gregorian music can sound today: authentic and yet contemporary.
In the second part of the concert, classics of pop music will be heard, such as "Knocking on heaven's door" by Bob Dylan, "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen, "Thank you for the music" by ABBA, "Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel, "Sailing" by Rod Steward, "Bohemian Rapsody" by Queen or "Ameno" by ERA, which have been newly arranged in the style of Gregorian chant.
Let yourself be inspired by the fascinating voices of the soloists and the moving choral singing: Middle Ages meets the here and now. The Gregorian Voices offer you a breathtaking concert and an incomparable listening pleasure.
