SIMON SHAHEEN QUINTET

For more than three decades, Palestinian-American oud and violin virtuoso Simon Shaheen has been among the foremost performers of traditional Arabic music, which he combines with elements of Western classical music and jazz. Counting artists such as Quincy Jones, Sting, and Dave Brubeck among his collaborators, Shaheen, who also holds a professorship at Berklee College of Music, makes his Pierre Boulez Saal debut leading a quintet featuring ney, qanun, cello, and percussion.
