Friedrich Wilhelm Weidemann: Markgräfin Wilhelmine von Brandenburg-Bayreuth als Kind

Friedrich Wilhelm Weidemann: Markgräfin Wilhelmine von Brandenburg-Bayreuth als Kind

Let us take you back to the time of Frederick William I. 300 years ago, the king and his family spent the late summer and fall at Königs Wusterhausen Palace. From 1713, he imposed a strict austerity program on his court. For cost reasons, the opera was closed and court bands were disbanded. However, some of his children were very musical. They showed great talent in composing their own pieces of music and learning to play musical instruments. The eldest Princess Wilhelmine performed as a harpsichord soloist at an early age, while the youngest, Amalie, received music lessons from Crown Prince Friedrich himself.

Thematic guided tour with palace director Dr. Margrit Schulze, SPSG, followed by a champagne reception and savory cookies in the palace foyer, followed by an organ concert in the Kreuzkirche Königs Wusterhausen.
