Violin Sonatas by Franck, Szymanowski, and Ortiz

Young Spanish violinist María Dueñas has been regarded as one of the most promising artists of her generation since winning the Menuhin Competition in 2021, equally acclaimed for the technical and emotional maturity of her playing. Joined by pianist Alexander Malofeev, she makes her Pierre Boulez Saal debut performing both well-known and lesser-known violin sonatas by César Franck and Karol Szymanowski as well as a new piece by Mexican composer Gabriela Ortiz, whose violin concerto Altar de cuerdo Dueñas premiered in 2022.
