Year of the Tuba 2024 at the Musikinstrumenten-Museum

Tuba-Impression – Tuba-Impression

Thomas Leleu gained international recognition for his exceptional technique and his ability to integrate the tuba into various musical genres, ranging from classical to jazz and contemporary compositions. As a soloist, Leleu has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Orchestre National de France and the Munich Chamber Orchestra. Accompanied by Guillaume Vincent on piano, he will present works by Saint-Saëns, Rachmaninov, and Piazzolla, among others.

In the second part of the concert, Tuba on the Beat will follow, a chamber music jazz project featuring Latin American and experimental style elements. Daniel Casimir and Gerhard Gschlößl will perform on tuba, accompanied by Laura Robles on cajón and Julius Apriardi on vibraphone.

The concert is part of the exhibition "Low brass. A brief history of low brass instruments" to mark the Year of the Tuba 2024 at the Musikinstrumenten-Museum. It is supported by the Landesmusikrat Berlin and the Buffet Crampon brands B&S Markneukirchen Klingenthal and Melton, Meinl, Weston.
