Abeneko & The Positive Mind – Abeneko & The Positive Mind

From Sufi Dub to Tanzanian Bongo Flava to Balochi Benjo sounds from Pakistan: the open-air music festival DURCHLÜFTEN presents concerts and DJ sets across continents and borders on four summer weekends (18 JULY - 10 AUGUST), each Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 19:00 in the inner courtyard of the Humboldt Forum - for free and outdoors.

Abeneko & The Positive Mind

The five-piece band led by singer, songwriter, guitarist and choreographer Isack Abeneko from Dar es Salaam already brought the Schlüter Courtyard to life in 2023. Now they are back to present their latest songs on an extensive European tour. Abeneko describe their music as “bongo fusion”, a mix of bongo flava and various influences ranging from Nigerian highlife to ultra-fast singeli.Their music aims to promote traditional and contemporary Tanzanian music, dance and culture and make it internationally visible. The creative head of the band has already appeared on stage at the Humboldt Forum as part of the dance performance VINYAGO.
