The Hamburg New Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 2001 by freelance professional musicians from all over the world. Since then, the orchestra has earned and maintained a leading position in the northern German musical landscape. It sees itself as a dynamic orchestra that can be expanded from smaller chamber orchestra ensembles to a large symphony orchestra with choir.

However, the heart of the orchestra has always been the chamber orchestra, which has hardly changed since its founding and is very well attuned to each other. With numerous guest appearances in Spain, France, Italy and South Korea, it has gained a large circle of friends among the audience. The orchestra's concertmaster, Tigran Mikaelyan, is the musical director.
