Operetta evening - A musical journey from Italian opera to Viennese operetta

Salon Mühlenhaupt invites four soloists from the International Singing Studio Berlin to a summer operetta evening.

The musical journey begins in Beijing, in the Emperor's palace: Princess Turandot forces her suitors to solve three riddles. If they fail, they will be beheaded. Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot sounds suitably dramatic. Next stop is Italy: Giuseppe Verdi's opera The Sicilian Vespers tells of the patriotic struggle against foreign rule. This is expressed, among other things, in the famous aria O tu Palermo.

The Neapolitan Canzone Catari, Catari takes us on to Vienna, the operetta stronghold. Johann Strauss is not to be missed - with the Czárdás Klänge der Heimat from Die Fledermaus and Wiener Blut. Of course, it is worth staying in the city musically, because as the saying goes: “Vienna, Vienna, you alone, shall always be the city of my dreams”. The song was composed by Rudolf Sieczyński. Operettas are always about love. Franz Lehár - considered one of the founders of the so-called silver operetta era - is no different. However, he does not always have a happy ending. Love, heaven on earth can be heard in Paganini and in Tsarevich, the expectant One will come.
